Iskhak Farkhutdinov is deputy director for science at Vernadsky State
Geological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Iskhak holds a
PhD in Petroleum Geology. Conducts research in the field of medical
geology and renewable energy (geothermal resources).
During his previous work as the Head of Geological Department at the
Bashkir State University he organized yearly exchange geological
practices in the Pyrenees and the Southern Urals between Bashkir State
University and the University of Cergy-Paris (France) students.
Actively introduces modern skills into the educational process using
computer technologies, developed and taught courses at the university:
Geoinformation systems in geology, General Geology, Summer geological
practice in the Southern Urals. Iskhak also actively uses YouTube and
Instagram in teaching and popularizing geology among Russian-speaking
users (https://www.instagram.com/iskhakgeo/ )
Iskhak is one of the organisers of the first UNESCO Global Geopark in
Russia (Yangantu). Since 2021 – Vice-President of the Russian
Geological Society (OO ROSGEO). Since 2021 – International Medical
Geology Association Newsletter Editor.
